The undisputed champion is Pierre Yovanovitch, king of curation and design. What strikes me most about his work on this project in the Hamptons is its restrained glory. Never have white walls felt so elegant. His furniture and curation perfection shines against the white backdrop, giving it a feeling of a refined gallery.
In my opinion, Pierre Yovanovitch is one of the design greats. His furniture and interior design are the perfect combination of purpose and beauty. His use of exposed connections, dovetailed edges, wood bowties between thick wood panels, and visible seams shines through, revealing the purpose behind each piece. The symmetrical curved wood-backed sofas and their back detail perfectly frame the sitting room.
The entire home is a testament to Pierre Yovanovitch's mastery, with a unified color palette of royal-almost-navy blue and shades of yellow. This combination of blue and warm wood tones, which are opposites on the color wheel, creates a striking harmony that is a delight to the eyes.
One of the design magic tricks in this project is the lucite legs on the vanity. These legs, almost invisible in the reflecting light from the gloss zellige tile, add a touch of innovation and intrigue to the design.
This is how you do a white kitchen, tonally. Using a stainless steel countertop gives an industrial edge to the timeless shaker cabinet fronts. This is truly a timeless kitchen done so so well.
